On July 20, the opening ceremony of the 6th International Dance Festival “Dream of Dance, Harmony of the Silk Road” was held in the administrative center of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China, the city of Urumqi, writes “Xinhua” News Agency.
More than a thousand dancers from Asia, Africa and Europe arrived in China to participate.During the 17 days that the festival will last, performances of artists in the genres of folk dance, musical, classical ballet will be held on the stages of Urumqi.
Among other things, the audience will be presented with the famous Chinese ballet “The Red Detachment of Women” and P.Tchaikovsky's ballet “The Sleeping Beauty” with the participation of dancers from Belarus.
Dance workshops and a fashion show are also planned within the framework of the festival.
The festival will end on August 5.
