An international media forum opened on Friday at the Dovletmamet Azadi library in Arkadag city, the official Turkmen media reported.
The forum is attended by 50 media representatives from 17 countries, representing more than 30 agencies.
According to the report, the program of the Media Forum is devoted to the city of Arkadag.The first topic of the forum's media session is "Arkadag City - the first smart city in the region".
The forum's first session featured speeches by Ilyas Demirji, secretary-general of the Association of Engineers and Architects of Turkic States, Gurbanmurat Mezilov, rector of Oguz Khan Engineering and Technology University, and Salvatore Fundaró, an UN-HABITAT expert on human settlements.
The opening of the international scientific conference titled "Arkadag City - the embodiment of digital and smart technologies" was held on the same day at the Health Management Building in Arkadag city.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Nurmuhammet Amannepesov, Minister of Education of Turkmenistan, representatives of international organizations, as well as professors and teachers of higher educational institutions spoke at the conference.
