
The Iranian Gymnastics Federation announced the consent of the Ministry of Sports and Youth Policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the participation of the country’s women in international competitions in sports acrobatics subject to the compliance with Islamic rules.
Earlier, Zarhra Inche-Dargakhi, head of the Iranian Gymnastics Federation, after negotiations with the authorities of the International Federation, announced that permission had been received from them for Iranian women to participate in international competitions in acrobatics in hijabs.
Thus, it is the first time since the Islamic Revolution of 1979 that Iranian women acrobats can participate in international competitions.
