From June 8 to 18, 2023, the capital of Cuba hosts the Olympic qualifying tournament in weightlifting Grand Prix of Havana, reports Olympics.
In order to qualify for the Paris Olympics, athletes must compete in three events from a specific list. The Havana Grand Prix is just on this list.
In the category up to 81 kg for women in group B, the silver medalist of the 2020 Games in the category up to 59 kg Polina Guryeva, who went down in the history of Turkmenistan, won the first and so far, the only Olympic award for the country.
Together with Guryeva in group B in the women's 81 kg weight category, Aremy Fuentes from Mexico, the 2020 Games bronze medalist in the 76 kg category, and Leidy Solis from Colombia, the 2008 Games silver medalist in the 69 kg category, will compete.
