Etihad Airways, the national carrier of the United Arab Emirates, reported with an unusual proposal, that will help save the environment. So, passengers can take patronage of the Etihad Mangrove Forest and “adopt” a mangrove tree.

Despite the fact that, the cost of planting one tree is only 5 USD, it is a large contribution in reducing carbon trace. As the airline carrier notes, one mangrove tree absorbs as much CO2 as a liner emits in a seven-hour flight.

It is noted, that purchasers are able to follow the “adopted” trees and evergreen forest development in general through a mobile application. Besides that, “adopted” mangrove trees can be given names. Etihad Airways plans to plant mangrove trees on every continent, where it flies to.
