James McAvoy decided to try himself as a director

Actor James McAvoy (“X-Men”, “Split”) will make his first film a biographical film about impostor rappers, writes the website Film.ru.

The plot of the film, which does not yet have a working title, is based on the real story of two Scots, Gavin Bain and Billy Boyd, who in the 90s pretended to be famous rap artists from California and claimed that they were friends with Eminem himself.

A duo of self-proclaimed rappers called Sillibil 'n Brains were tricked into signing a music label contract and performing on MTV, but the deception was discovered.

Filming will be in Scotland. The film will be produced by Guy J. Lowten.
