Japan International Cooperation Agency organized course on Customs administration

From February 1 to February 15, 2021, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) conducted an online training course on "Customs Administration", which was attended by representatives of the customs services of Central Asia, in particular Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan.

During the training course, Japanese colleagues made presentations and lectures covering all aspects of customs in Japan.The presentations presented at the seminar really reflect the real picture of the implementation of customs procedures in the land of the rising sun.

The lectures were on such topics as: Review of Japanese Customs; Trade Facilitation; Risk Management Process, Country of Origin Rules Review; Intellectual Property Rights, Authorized Economic Operator, etc.Despite the online format of the seminar, the participants were able to get a good idea of the work of the Japanese customs.

At the end of the training course, the participants were awarded certificates of the Japan International Cooperation Agency.The Japanese Customs Service is one of the most highly developed customs services in the world.

As one of the founders of the World Customs Organization and participating in many international projects related to innovative approaches in the field of customs administration, Japanese customs is an interesting object to study from the point of view of the history of its development, organization, reasons for its success both on the world stage and in own country.

These reasons may be quite applicable in the practice of the Turkmen customs authorities, too.
