Japan’s NEXI Ready to Support Projects in Turkmenistan

The Turkmen delegation held a meeting with representatives of the Nippon Export and Investment Insurance (NEXI) Agency of Japan. During the meeting, the representatives of the NEXI Agency expressed readiness to participate in the realisation of projects implemented in Turkmenistan, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Japan reported on Sunday.

The meeting was held during the working visit of the Turkmen delegation led by the Chairman of the State Bank for Foreign Economic Activity of Turkmenistan, Rahymberdi Jepbarov, to Tokyo from December 13 to 16 this year.

The parties held productive talks on implementing various economic projects and discussed financial support for these initiatives. NEXI, in turn, confirmed its readiness to support the financial side of project implementation in Turkmenistan.

Turkmenistan's representatives also held meetings at the State Bank of Japan for International Cooperation (JBIC), Japan External Trade Development Organisation (JETRO), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and other vital organisations, identifying new areas of cooperation.

In particular, The State Concern Türkmenhimiýa and Japan's Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd have signed two contracts. The representatives of the aviation departments of Turkmenistan and Japan held a meeting in Tokyo to discuss the establishment of direct flights between the two countries.
