Jeddah hosts Islamic Art Biennale

On January 23, the first Islamic Art Biennale opened in the city of Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), in which Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Egypt, Tunisia, Greece, Mali, Qatar and Oman take part, writes Gazeta.uz.

The organizers of the event, which will last until the end of April, are the “Diriyah” Biennale Foundation and the Ministry of Culture of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Within the framework of the Biennale, the participating countries demonstrate numerous museum exhibits of significant cultural and historical value for the Islamic world - ancient editions of the Koran, ceramics, household items, clothing, shoes and much more.

The list of Biennale events also includes discussions, musical meetings, master classes in folk crafts, film screenings, and workshops.
