JK Rowling and Ed Sheeran are among the top 100 largest taxpayers in the UK

British writer JK Rowling and singer Ed Sheeran were among the country's most generous taxpayers. In the Sunday Times top 100 ranking, the author of “Harry Potter” took 31st place. The singer follows immediately behind her. Pravilamag.ru reports this with reference to the BBC.

A list of the UK's top 100 taxpayers published by the Sunday Times showed they contributed 5.3 billion pounds in taxes to the UK in 2023.

The Sunday Times estimates that Rowling paid 40 million pounds in taxes and Sheeran 36 million pounds.

The singer, who is only 32 years old, became the youngest participant in the ranking of the largest taxpayers in the UK.

Also included in the ranking are former Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone (£652.6 million), Dyson founder James Dyson (£156 million), the Weston family, which owns the Primark, Ryvita and Silver Spoon brands (£146.2 million) and other.
