Katy Perry, Billie Eilish and other celebrities speak out in defense of music from AI

Billie Eilish, Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry and other pop stars signed an open letter calling for the protection of music from artificial intelligence. This is reported by gazeta.ru with reference to The Hollywood Reporter.

The American Artists Rights Alliance is concerned about the use of neural networks in music creation. The authors of the letter ask electronic musicians to limit the use of neural networks so as not to infringe on the rights of living composers.

Neural networks can create digital copies of the voices of real performers or be used to circumvent copyrights.

Jen Jacobsen, executive director of the alliance, says:

At the same time, the letter's authors acknowledge that, when used conscientiously, artificial intelligence can be a valuable tool for enriching the sound of music.

The letter was also signed by Sam Smith, Jon Bon Jovi, Pearl Jam, R.E.M., Kate Hudson and other celebrities.
