Kazakh President to Visit Turkmenistan For Caspian Summit

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev will visit Turkmenistan to participate in the VI Caspian Summit, scheduled for June 29, the Kazakh news agency Kazinform reported on Tuesday.

During the telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian on June 20 this year, Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov once again invited Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi to the summit of the Heads of State of the Caspian Sea countries.

Russian President Vladimir Putin during his meeting with Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov in Moscow on June 10 accepted an invitation to visit Turkmenistan.

The previous summit of Caspian littoral states was held in Aktau city of Kazakhstan on August 12, 2018. The summit resulted in the signing of the Convention on the Legal Status of the Caspian Sea.
