Kazakhstan may become one of the producers of environmentally friendly jet fuel of a new generation

Kazakhstan plans to start production of environmentally friendly fuel, reported “Kazakhstanskaya Pravda”.

Prospects for the development of a new direction in the fuel industry were discussed at the meeting “The First Kazakhstan Aviation Dialogue: Energy Transition for the Sake of Sustainable Development and Implementation of the Transit Potential of Central Asia”, held in Astana on May 25.

It was noted that the refineries of Kazakhstan have all the necessary infrastructure for the production of fuel of the Jet A-1 (JET A-1) brand, which meets international environmental standards and is popular all over the world.

A proposal was also made on the possibility of establishing in Kazakhstan the production of sustainable alternative aviation fuel SAF. This will increase the attractiveness of Kazakhstani airports for foreign airlines, since from 2030 most European air carriers will begin to fully or partially switch to this type of fuel.
