Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev Arrives in Ashgabat

Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev arrived in Turkmenistan on Thursday for an official visit, as reported by Turkmenistan’s official media.

At Ashgabat International Airport, Tokayev was welcomed by the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

Following a joint photo session against the backdrop of the national symbols of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, Tokayev and Berdimuhamedov held a bilateral meeting. Both leaders expressed confidence that this visit and the upcoming high-level talks would provide new momentum for the long-term cooperation between the two countries.

Tokayev’s visit is tied to his participation in the international forum, "Interconnection of Times and Civilizations the Basis of Peace and Development," which will be held in Ashgabat on October 11, commemorating the 300th anniversary of the poet Magtymguly Pyragy.
