Life on a cruise ship turned out to be cheaper than renting housing on land

American Ryan Guthridge permanently lives and works on cruise ships to save on rent, writes “Kazakhstanskaya Pravda”.

He discovered this method in 2021, when he was forced to work remotely due to quarantine and lockdown. Guthridge is an IT engineer for cloud solutions by profession, so the location from which he can work is unimportant for him.

Two years ago, he booked two four-day cruises on the Freedom of the Seas and went on tour.

The man noticed that the cost of staying at sea on a liner for 300 days is almost equal to what he paid for housing on land.In addition, ships usually always have free Wi-Fi and free drinks, and the cost of cruises also includes most of the food on the ship.

This permits to save additional money on bills and groceries. Thus, for Guthridge living on a ship is significantly cheaper than in the city.
