Mechanisms of trade facilitation considered at the online training in Ashgabat

From January 22 to 28, an online training for representatives of line ministries and departments of Turkmenistan was held in Ashgabat, where issues on eliminating trade barriers and simplifying trade procedures were considered.

The training was conducted within the framework of the Project “Strengthening the Trade Capacity of Turkmenistan", jointly implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan, according to UNDP Press release.

Alexey Bondarenko an international trade consultant from the British company Crown Agents conducted the training, who led interactive discussions on trade facilitation, including discussion of the concept of a single window mechanism’, the creation of digital transport corridors and compliance with the international standards and recommendations.

Akmurat Danatarov, UNDP Program Analyst on Governance, Economic Diversification and Inclusive Growth noted:

The Project “Strengthening the Trade Capacity of Turkmenistan" was launched in 2019 and is aimed at strengthening and increasing the trade potential and expanding the competitive potential of the country's economic development in order to involve new sources of economic growth and improve the welfare of the people, the Press release says.
