Medine Amanova won bronze in snatch at World Youth Weightlifting Championships in Mexico

Medine Amanova from Turkmenistan won a small bronze medal in the snatch at the Youth World Championships in weightlifting in the weight category up to 59 kg. Competitions are held in Leon (Mexico).

Amanova showed the result of 83 kg in the snatch. In the second exercise of the weightlifting biathlon, Amanova was unable to lift a single declared weight. As a result, the 17 years old athlete completed the competition with a zero score.

The first was Dubaney Sinisterra from Colombia - 187 kg (83 + 104), the Egyptian Hanin Ahmed - 185 kg (82 + 103) took the second place, the third - Jessica Palacios from Ecuador - 183 kg (84 + 99).

Another Turkmen weightlifter Gulyalek Kakamyradova took ninth place with a score of 165 kg (74+91).

The medals of the 2022 World Championship in Mexico are contested in 20 weight categories by 205 athletes (115 girls and 90 boys) from 39 countries.

Turkmenistan is represented by seven weightlifters at these competitions: three in the men's tournament and four in the women's.

The world championship will end on June 18.
