The Minister of Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Belarus Sergey Kovalchuk, as part of a working visit to Ashgabat, met with the Chairman of the Hockey Federation of Turkmenistan Jora Hudayberdiev and invited Turkmen hockey players to training camps in Minsk.
During a short conversation held in the box for guests of honor of the Winter Sports Complex, Kovalchuk assessed the level of Turkmen hockey and wished the national team success at the upcoming world championship in the third division of group A, which will be held in Bishkek from March 10 to March 16, 2024.
In turn, Hudayberdiev expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Ice Hockey Federation of the Republic of Belarus for the fruitful cooperation carried out within the framework of the Memorandum signed between the hockey federations of the two countries in 2019.
It is also worth noting that today an exhibition match of the national team of Turkmenistan was held at the arena of the Sports Complex. The team played a two-sided game, which ended with a score of 2:1 in favor of the Greens.
We remind that earlier in Minsk, at a meeting of the Minister of Sports and Tourism Sergey Kovalchuk with the Ambassador of Turkmenistan Nazarguly Shagulyev, the participation of the Turkmen team in the II Games of the CIS countries, which will be held in 11 cities of Belarus from August 5 to 13, was discussed.
