Moldova’s Foreign Minister Plans Visit to Turkmenistan

Moldova’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mihai Popșoi is planning a visit to Turkmenistan, the Moldovan Foreign Ministry reported.

During a phone conversation with Turkmenistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov, Popșoi reaffirmed Moldova’s continued support for Turkmenistan’s internationally recognized status of permanent neutrality.

The officials agreed to continue bilateral political consultations, viewing them as a mechanism to strengthen dialogue and coordinate on matters of mutual interest.

Key areas of cooperation were highlighted during the discussion, with particular emphasis on the energy sector and its potential for further development.

Popșoi expressed gratitude for the invitation to visit Turkmenistan and emphasized that the upcoming visit would provide an opportunity to expand and strengthen MoldovaTurkmenistan relations.

Turkmenistan and the Republic of Moldova established diplomatic relations on October 5, 1992.
