More Than 200 Foreign Citizens Enter Turkmenistan From Iran

More than 200 people from 16 countries, including Central Asian states, China, Russia, the United States, Finland, Sweden, the Netherlands, Germany, Türkiye and Saudi Arabia, entered Turkmenistan from neighboring Iran. The information was released Wednesday in an official statement by Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The ministry said that, in connection with the current situation in the Middle East, Turkmenistan, guided by the principles of humanitarianism and mutual respect and firmly committed to fulfilling its international obligations, is ensuring all necessary conditions for the passage of foreign citizens, road vehicles and railway rolling stock across the Turkmen-Iranian border.

According to the statement, all international checkpoints at the state border continue to operate normally.

With the coordination of the Turkmen government, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, China and South Korea have also organized the evacuation of their citizens from Iran.
