New banknotes of 1 and 5 thousand rubles will enter circulation in Russia

The Bank of Russia plans to issue new banknotes of 1 and 5 thousand rubles this summer, reports TASS with reference to information from Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank of Russia Sergei Belov.

The new banknotes will have an improved design, increased resistance to abrasion and damage, as well as a more advanced anti-counterfeiting system.

As an image for new banknotes can be used the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin, the building of the State Bank or the monument to Maxim Gorky for a thousandth banknote and the view of Yekaterinburg for a banknote of 5 thousand.

Also, the Central Bank of Russia in 2024 and 2025 intends to issue new banknotes of 500, 10 and 50 rubles.
