New British Ambassador to Turkmenistan appointed

The British Foreign Office has replaced its ambassador to Turkmenistan, reports the press service of the British Foreign Office.

Stephen Conlon has been appointed as the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Turkmenistan. It is also reported that the newly appointed ambassador will begin his duties in May 2023.

The Foreign Ministry notes that Conlon has been appointed His Majesty's Ambassador to Turkmenistan to replace Lucia Wilde, who is moving to another position in the civil service.

Previously, Stephen Conlon worked in diplomatic missions in the EU, Estonia and Sweden. Represented the UK Trade and Investment Department in Finland. Since 2022, he has led the European Parliament team.
