New Delhi residents die 12 years earlier than other Indians

Residents of New Delhi die on average 12 years earlier than other Indians. This conclusion was made by scientists at the Energy Policy Institute of the University of Chicago, reports “MIR 24”.

The reasons lie in the growing level of air pollution in India, which has risen catastrophically over the past 20 years, as well as in industrial development and population growth, experts explain, proposing to solve the problem in a complex way: reduce emissions from transport, regulate waste disposal and engage in landscaping.

Let us remind, New Delhi is the second largest city in India, which is part of the capital national territory of Delhi, where over 14 million people live.
