New Drinking Water Plant Opens in Goktepe District

A new drinking water plant began operations Friday in Goktepe District at the S.A. Niyazov Daikhan Association, Turkmenistan’s official media reported.

The project is part of the government’s policy to modernize production facilities and improve living standards.

According to the report, providing citizens with quality drinking water is a priority under the leadership of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

The opening ceremony was attended by members of the Mejlis, local authorities, representatives of public organizations, elders, and residents of the district. Performances by creative groups added a festive atmosphere to the event.

The enterprise, owned by the Gül Zaman Economic Society, is designed to produce 1.25 million dekaliters of purified drinking water annually. Products will be offered in environmentally friendly packaging of 0.33, 0.5, 0.75, and 1.5 liters under the brands Zamana, Mermer, and Durna. The launch created around 50 jobs for rural residents.

Meanwhile, in Baherden District of Ahal Province, the private company Parahat commissioned the Talh winemaking complex.
