New Russian Ambassador accredited in Turkmenistan

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Turkmenistan Ivan Volynkin presented copies of his credentials to Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Vepa Hajiyev. According to the Turkmen Foreign Ministry, the meeting was held on Wednesday, May 17.

“The diplomats discussed the current agenda of the Turkmen-Russian strategic partnership, which is consistently developing across the entire spectrum of interaction”, - the message says.

It should be noted that 64 years old Ivan Volynkin, who was previously director of the consular department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, replaced Alexander Blokhin as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Turkmenistan.

Volynkin entered the diplomatic service in 1981.In 2017 he was awarded the Order of Friendship of the Russian Federation.Also, in 2018 he received the Order of Friendship of the Republic of Armenia.
