New York's first robot cop, retired after 4 months of work

Robot police officer K5, which debuted in the fall of 2023 in New York's busy Times Square subway station, did not live up to the expectations placed on it. Despite the optimism of Mayor Eric Adams, the car did not take root in the New York subway. Techcult.ru reports this with reference to the New York Times.

The 181-kilogram giant not only did not inspire confidence in passengers, but also failed to cope with simple tasks. K5 could not move up the stairs on his own and was constantly looked after by several officers.

As a result, after working for only 4 months, K5 was fired and is now huddled in the back room, to the undisguised joy of his former colleagues.
