Nokia Offers Technological Solutions for Turkmenistan’s Energy Sector

On November 12, the XVIII International Exhibition and Scientific Conference “Türkmentel 2025” and the International Conference and Expo “International Transport and Transit Corridors: Interconnection and Development 2025” began their work in Ashgabat.

On the sidelines of the forum, the Head of the Caspian Region and Central Asia Division of NOKIA, Yevgeniy Balychev, spoke with a correspondent of “GA” about the prospects for cooperation with Turkmen partners and presented proposals for the country’s energy sector.

“The international exhibition and conference taking place in Ashgabat are necessary and important events both for Turkmenistan and for our company. In Turkmenistan, we have maintained a long-standing 20-year partnership with the state company Altyn Asyr.

For us, it is truly a priority that the greater part of the network is built on NOKIA equipment,” noted the company representative.

According to Mr. Balychev, an important area of cooperation is participation in the modernization of networks in Turkmenistan’s regions where NOKIA products are already in use. Currently, preparations are underway for a large-scale 5G (fifth generation) network rollout across Turkmenistan and for providing these services to the country’s residents.

At the same time, the expert drew attention to the fact that the use of fifth-generation standards will have a positive impact on the development of Turkmenistan’s economic sectors, including the fuel and energy complex.

“The energy sector requires stability in the operational activities of its structural enterprises.Accordingly, in this field, uninterrupted communication is a very important component, considering the mountainous terrain and the fact that various extraction enterprises are located in remote areas.

Our company is capable of implementing projects related to video surveillance of facilities, as well as providing technical support for various logistics and navigation services,” proposed the head of NOKIA’s regional division.

In conclusion, Mr. Balychev stated that in the modern world, technological modernization is steadily taking place, inevitably leading to an entirely new level of development. Based on this, a special emphasis has been made on the fact that Turkmenistan’s digital market is absolutely ready for renewal.

“We believe that now is the perfect moment to deepen our partnership with Altyn Asyr, to offer our services to government organizations, companies involved in hydrocarbon extraction, and logistics centers. We are ready for fruitful cooperation,” concluded our interlocutor.
