Norway's northernmost region asks the European Commission for a 26-hour day

The mayor of Vadsø, located above the Arctic Circle, asked the European Commission to approve a time zone with a 26-hour day for her region. This was reported by iz.ru with reference to Politico.

The initiative aims to strengthen local identity, increase family time and attract new residents.

In the letter to the EC, the region asks to instruct the Norwegian authorities to introduce a 26-hour day instead of a 24-hour day.
