Nutritionist: cinnamon is a natural antidepressant

Nutritionist Anna Belousova told Sputnik radio about how to brew cinnamon so that it helps relieve stress, reports Vse42.ru.

Cinnamon contains essential oils that have a calming effect. In addition, its smell is associated with baking, which also promotes relaxation.

To prepare a drink with cinnamon, you need to brew the spice in warm water (not brought to a boil or slightly cooled). You can also add other spices to the drink, such as zest, ginger, vanilla or cloves.

However, it should be remembered that cinnamon can increase vascular tone, so people with heart and vascular diseases should consume it in moderation. People with unstable blood pressure are recommended to start with a drink that is very well diluted.
