Turkmenistan's national team took part in the Opening Ceremony of the XX Asian Games, held on September 19, 2026, at Paloma Mizuho Stadium in Nagoya, Japan.The Opening Ceremony was officially inaugurated by Japan’s Emperor Naruhito.
The ceremonial flame was lit by renowned hammer throw athletes Koji Murofushi and his father, Shigenobu Murofushi.The ceremony was held under the theme “Harmonic Heart Beat.”Turkmenistan will be represented at the Games by athletes competing in weightlifting, boxing, swimming, athletics, karate, kurash, wrestling, and wushu.More than 15,000 athletes from 45 countries are participating in the Asian Games.
Competitions are being held across 43 sports and will continue through October 4, 2026.
