Overwhelmed by work: British postman hid 4 thousand letters and parcels in his home

A British postal worker who was overwhelmed by the workload has been given a suspended sentence of one year and 200 hours of community service for hiding around 4000 letters and parcels in the attic of his home, MIR 24 reports with reference to the Daily Mail.

Jason Cooper, who has worked for the postal service since 2017, has been transferred multiple times from branch to branch in different cities. During his service, he received reprimands for inefficient time management.

The unusual discovery was made by chance: a carpenter working on Cooper's house found 12 bags of mail in the attic and reported it to the police. Law enforcement agencies found out that some letters and packages had been opened, but their contents remained intact.

During interrogation, Cooper explained his actions by fatigue from constant overtime.
