Parliament of Turkmenistan ratifies a MoU on Dostluk field in the Caspian Sea

The Parliament of Turkmenistan has ratified a Memorandum of Understanding between the governments of Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan “On joint exploration, development and exploitation of the hydrocarbon resources of the Dostluk field in the Caspian Sea.”

The Memorandum of Understanding “On joint exploration, development and exploitation of the hydrocarbon resources of the Dostluk field in the Caspian Sea” was signed on January 21, 2021, during a visit to Ashgabat of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov. A month later, in February, the Parliament of Azerbaijan approved the document.

Vagit Alekperov declared the readiness of the Russian energy company Lukoil to join the project during a meeting with the Turkmen leader.
