Correspondents of “Chronicles of Turkmenistan” report that the police are trying to find out who the residents of Turkmenabad get assistance from and how the process is organized.
City inhabitants are restoring their houses using their own resources.If construction materials have been unloaded in front of a house, a district police officer summons the owner to the district police centre and urges him to submit a statement explaining where the materials were purchased and at what price and what sources of income were used.
For instance, Arslan Achilov, a district police officer in the village of Urgench, which is now a part of the city, summons locals to the police station located on Sakarskaya street.
The police officer enquires whether residents received any financial aid from abroad.If the money was borrowed from relatives or neighbours, this needs to be clearly stated in an explanatory report.
Achilov explains that he is following the instructions from higher-ranking authorities.
Law enforcement officers from Turkmenabat complain to their families about working long hours. After the work shift the executives are forcing police officers to visit crowded public places in civilian clothes in order not to attract attention and to collect information on what is going on and eavesdrop on people’s conversations.
“Chronicles of Turkmenistan” has previously reported that instead of rendering assistance to those affected the law enforcement authorities of the region deployed police squadron to identify those uploading photo and video footage of the hurricane impact.
Sixty six people were detained with criminal charges being initiated against two women.Later one of them was pardoned.
