Pomegranates and olives are grown in nurseries of Balkan velayat of Turkmenistan

Various types of fruit, deciduous and coniferous trees are cultivated in the forestry nurseries of Balkan velayat, located in etrap Mahtumkuli and Aydere. Currently, subtropical olive and pomegranate trees are grown here, the newspaper reports “Turkmenistan: Golden Age.”

Local pomegranate trees are possible to bring from 20 to 70 kilograms of fruit, and a variety of olives are known for their precocity and yield.

In the hatcheries of these etraps, seedlings of grapes and fruit trees - apricots, apple trees, quinces, almonds are also grown in order to provide local farms, organizations and enterprises with them, the source notes.
