President Berdimuhamedov Expresses Condolences to President of Kazakhstan

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent condolences to President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in connection with the large-scale forest fires that broke out in the Abay region and caused human casualties, the official Turkmen media reported.

On behalf of the people and government of Turkmenistan and on his behalf, the Head of State conveyed words of deep sympathy and support to the families and friends of the victims at this difficult moment and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.

The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also sent condolences to President Tokayev, noting in the message that he took with deep sorrow the news of large-scale forest fires in the Abay region, which caused human casualties.

According to the TASS news agency, 14 people died as a result of large-scale forest fires in the Abay region of Kazakhstan. Kazakhstani President Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev declared June 12 a countrywide day of mourning in memory of the victims.
