On 5 July, at the session of the Cabinet of Ministers, the President of Turkmenistan dismissed Merdan Kakabayev, the head of “Turkmenstandartlary” State Service (“Turkmen Standards”) for failure to fulfill the job-related responsibilities, as viewed by the head of the state.
Let us recall that Kakabayev was appointed to this position less than six months ago, in late January 2019.
Mukhammetguly Kodzhagulyev was appointed as the new Chairperson.
Moreover, Berdymukhammedov expressed discontent with the performance of the executive of the State Statistics Committee Khalykdurdy Gurbanov, who was relieved of his post for shortcomings at works.
Gurbanov was appointed to the post less than a year ago, in June 2018.
Silap Velbegov, who had previously held the position of Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy, was appointed as his replacement.
