On 6 June President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov met with Executive director of Turkmenistan-US Business Council Eric Stewart.
The head of the state emphasized productive collaboration with the US business entities but highlighted that “the potential of the two countries might be used more efficiently taking into account diversified Turkmenistan’s economy and the development of transport infrastructure”, the state information agency TDH reported.
In the course of the meeting the sides discussed opportunities for the US business community to participate in the investment projects carried out by Turkmenistan. The potential areas for cooperation are reported to lie in fuel and energy sector, sports, tourism, agriculture and processing industry.
“The President of Turkmenistan highlighted that long-term investments in the economy are the factors for its successful development and expressed confidence in further expansion of partnership in the area of investments”, the media outlet reports.
According to TDH, as of 1 May 2018 156 projects with the US capital for a total value of 2573,43 million UD dollars and 0,3 million euro are registered in Turkmenistan.
