The President of the United States Joe Biden has congratulated the nations celebrating Novruz, the Baku-based Report news agency reported in Friday with reference to the Azerbaijani Embassy in Washington.
The US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who attended the Novruz event held online in Washingto, congratulated all nations celebrating this holiday on behalf of the US President Joe Biden and the people of the US.
Blinken expressed the hope that all major and minor difficulties in the world will be overcome with the advent of the spring.
An online event dedicated to the Novruz holiday was held in Washington D.C., and was jointly organized by the embassies of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkey and Turkmenistan and moderated by the Meridian International Center and the Oxus Society for Central Asia.
The International Day of Nowruz is celebrated annually on March 21 and marks the arrival of spring.
