President of Turkmenistan Discusses Cooperation with OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Chairman

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with the President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Pia Kauma, who arrived in Ashgabat to participate in the second conference “Parliamentary Diplomacy in the OSCE Area: Dialogue a Tool for Establishing Cooperation for a Prosperous and Peaceful Future.” During the meeting, issues of strengthening inter-parliamentary relations and interaction with international organizations were discussed, TDH reports.

Pia Kauma noted that the OSCE attaches great importance to developing interaction with neutral Turkmenistan, which advocates for strengthening peace and prosperity in the region and on the planet.

As part of the exchange of views on the prospects for cooperation, the importance of coordinating joint efforts on issues such as economic development, ensuring reliable transit of energy resources in various directions, environmental well-being and environmental protection, and rational use of water resources was emphasized.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov confirmed Turkmenistan’s readiness to assist in building up effective interaction within the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly to address pressing issues of our time.
