President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with Bill Huizenga, Chairman of the Subcommittee on South and Central Asia of the U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee, and his deputy, Sydney Kaye Camlager-Dav, during his working visit to the United States.
The President highlighted Turkmenistan’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with the United States in political, economic, and humanitarian spheres. Special emphasis was placed on collaboration with the U.S. Congress as an important direction for developing bilateral relations, including the exchange of legislative experience and discussion of key regional and international issues.
In recent years, U.S. congressional representatives have visited Turkmenistan, and steps have been taken to expand interparliamentary cooperation. President Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that closer ties between the legislative bodies of the two countries will strengthen political dialogue and mutual understanding.
The meeting also underscored the importance of the Turkmen-American business forum, organized during the visit of the Turkmen delegation to the United States.
At the conclusion of the talks, President Berdimuhamedov and the U.S. Congress members exchanged cordial wishes, affirming that relations based on trust and mutual understanding will continue to develop for the benefit of both nations.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov also met with John Rees, CEO of Nicklaus Companies, a global leader in golf infrastructure design and development.
The President noted strong potential for bilateral cooperation in the sector and cited the modern golf club in Ashgabat, built to international standards, as a successful example of Turkmen-American collaboration. The project has contributed significantly to the development of golf in Turkmenistan.
President Berdimuhamedov emphasized Turkmenistan’s commitment to creating a favorable investment climate and expressed readiness to consider new projects and proposals from the company.
The meeting concluded with confidence that collaboration with Nicklaus Companies will continue to expand, supporting the development of golf infrastructure and promoting the sport in Turkmenistan, while wishing CEO John Rees continued professional success.
