On 1 June President of Turkmenistan participated in the event organized in Döwletliler köşgi in honour of the International Day for Protection of Children.
The event brought together members of the government, the Mejlis Chairperson and Parliament members, officials from the Education Ministry and foster children of the Palace of Orphans.
One of the students presented his painting to Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov.
The state information agency TDH reports that the children also asked the head of the state to take a commemorative photo with them.
Students and graduates were presented with laptops, bicycles, textile goods and toys. New desks for classrooms were also handed out.
In honour of the holiday the President performed his song “Go on, our home country Turkmenistan!” and presented the children with a cake.
