On 14 June President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdymukhammedov is scheduled to arrive in Iran with a two-day official visit, the Iranian information agency IRNA reports.
During the visit the meeting between Berdymukhammedov and Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi will be held in the Sa’dabad Complex in Tehran.
According to the news outlet Mehr, the official representative of the Iranian government Bahadori Jahromi reported that “Iran’s exports to Turkmenistan have grown by 89% in the 13th administration [under President Raeisi], and the effects of these interactions will soon be clear.
The government is trying to exploit markets that have been used less”.
Jahromi was also quoted as saying that after Berdymukhammedov junior’s visit the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev is expected to visit Tehran next week.
The news outlet ISNA reports that President Raisi had invited the Turkmen President to visit Iran.
In January 2022 Serdar Berdymukhammedov visited Iran where he was hosted by Raisi.
At that moment Berdymukhammedov junior held the position of the Deputy Prime Minister.In the course of the visit the Turkmen delegation held some meetings to discuss cooperation in economy, trade, the fuel and energy sector, manufacturing, transportation and communications, including the expanding of international and regional motor and railroad transportation.
