Presidents of Turkmenistan and Armenia discuss potential launch of direct flight Ashgabat-Yerevan

According to the news outlet PanArmenian, the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan was quoted as saying that Armenia and Turkmenistan discussed possibilities to launch regular direct flights at the briefing held to outline the results of the meeting with the head of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov.

“Discussing economy, tourism and extending contacts between the residents of the two countries the sides raised the issue of launching a direct flight between capitals of Armenia and Turkmenistan. We are ready to provide our Turkmen friends with a package of incentives which are envisaged by the “open sky policy” implemented in Armenia”, — Sargsyan said.

After the meeting between Presidents of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan had been held, the flight Ashgabat-Tashkent was reported to be launched this year, but the Turkmen side did not submit the application for flights to Tashkent.
