Putin stated readiness of Russia to provide vaccines for COVID-19 to the countries which need them

Russia is ready to provide preparations for COVID-19 to the countries which need them. According to president of the country Vladimir Putin, effective and safe vaccines should become popular property, informs TASS.

Speaking at the summit of Group of Twenty (G20), Putin stated an inevitable competition in the market of vaccines. Despite it, the Russian leader considers that, a portfolio of preparations against coronavirus is necessary to form, proceeding from humanitarian purposes.

Undoubtedly, preparations for immunization should be general, public property. Our country, Russia is, of course, ready to provide the countries which need them, the vaccines developed by our scientists, Putin told.

Putin explained that he tells about the first-ever registered vaccine for COVID-19 Sputnik V and vaccine EpiVakKorona. He reminded that soon in Russia there will also appear a third preparation for this virus.

The pandemic scale obliges us to involve all available resources and workings out. Our overall aim to generate a portfolio of vaccine preparations and to provide all population of the planet with reliable protection, he told.

It seems to me that it is that case when the competition can be inevitable, but we should proceed, first of all, from reasons of humanitarian character and regards as of paramount importance it, the president of the Russian Federation added.

G20 Summit under the chairmanship of king of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud is held on November, 21-22 in an online format. The main themes: restoration of economic growth after crisis which is caused by the pandemic of novel coronavirus , maintenance of general access to vaccines, strengthening of system of public health services.

Let’s remind that in Russia for today two vaccines for coronavirus were registered: Sputnik V by Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology and “EpiVakKorona” by the Vector State Research Centre.

The third vaccine developed by the Scientific Centre for Research and Development of Immunobiological Preparations named after V.I.M.P.Chumakov of the Academy of Sciences of Russia will be shortly registered.
