Railroad service between Turkmen regions resumed again in a test mode

On May 20 railroad service between regions was resumed again in Turkmenistan in a test mode.

According to correspondents of “Chronicles of Turkmenistan”, trains from Ashgabat to Dashoguz and Turkmenabat and back run twice a week. The Ashgabat-Turkmenbashi-Ashgabat train runs daily. Train service from Serkhetabat (Kushka) to all other destinations will be resumed on 1 June.

However, passengers are informed at customer service of Ashgabat railway station that there is no information regarding resumed train service and staff advise to personally contact the administration of the railway station. However, they do not give executives’ numbers and suggest passengers find out valid telephone number via help desk.

Ticket fares have increased by 3 manats on average.In June 2019 a ticket in a sleeping car from Ashgabat to Balkanabat cost 25 manats in the booking office and 24,25 manats for an online ticket.

A return ticket from Balkanabat purchased at the booking office was 26 manats.
