The official website of Demiryollary OJSC informs about the full resumption of passenger railway communication between the cities of Turkmenistan.
The trains on the route Ashgabat — Turkmenbashi — Ashgabat and Turkmenbashi — Turkmenabat — Turkmenbashi returned to the schedule.
From June 1, 2021, passenger trains will resume in the country on the directions Turkmenabat — Gazodjak — Turkmenabat, Turkmenabat — Amyderya — Turkmenabat and Mary — Serhetabat — Mary. In March, rail passenger traffic resumed on the route: Ashgabat — Turkmenabat — Ashgabat, with a stop in the city of Mary. In April, the movement of passenger trains on the Ashgabat — Dashoguz — Ashgabat route was renewed.
Train operations were resumed subject to sanitary and hygienic requirements.
Passengers can buy a train ticket online on the Demiryollary OJSC website, as well as through mobile applications for devices based on Android and iOS. This system works in all velayat centers, cities and etraps. To use the service, it is enough to have access to the Internet.
Recall that the movement of passenger trains was suspended in July 2020 in order to prevent infectious diseases.
