Tajik specialist Rashid Rakhimov became the head coach of Rubin. This is reported by the official website of the Kazan club.

The term of the agreement with the 58-year-old coach is not specified.

Rashid Rakhimov replaced Yuri Utkulbaev as the head coach of Rubin, who had been heading the team since November, after Leonid Slutsky was dismissed.

Previously, Rakhimov worked as the head coach of Lokomotiv Moscow, Amkar Perm, Akhmat Grozny and Ufa, which he left in April 2021.

Rubin is in second place in the standings of the First League of the 2022/2023 season. The team scored 47 points after 26 matches.

The sports director of Rubin, Eduard Safonov, said that the club had not negotiated the appointment of Turkmen specialist Kurban Berdyev, who had previously left Sochi, as the head coach.
