Restructuring Newspapers and Magazines

To popularize the essence and substance of the ongoing reforms in the epoch of power and happiness, to publicize our independent country’s achievements and remarkable progress, and to improve the performance of newspaper and magazine editorial offices, the President of Turkmenistan has signed a Resolution authorizing:

1. To merge the Galkynyş newspaper and the Vozrozhdenie (Revival) magazine with the Watan newspaper;

2. To appoint the Watan newspaper a legal successor of the Galkynyş newspaper and the Vozrozhdenie (Revival) magazine;

3. To delegate the functions of the abolished Vozrozhdenie magazine to Diýar magazine, and to publish the Diýar magazine in the Turkmen, English and Russian languages.

The document also prescribes the Turkmen State Publishing Service jointly with the Ministry of Adalat to prepare and submit for consideration by the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan proposals on introducing the Resolution-associated amendments to the legislation of Turkmenistan within one-month time space.

The Resolution also authorizes:

1. To merge the Türkmen Dili newspaper with Mugallymlar Gazeti newspaper;

2. To appoint the Mugallymlar Gazeti a legal successor of the Türkmen Dili newspaper.

The document also prescribes the Turkmen State Publishing Service jointly with the Ministry of Adalat to prepare and submit for consideration by the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan proposals on introducing the Resolution-associated amendments to the legislation of Turkmenistan within one-month time space.
