Results of the regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan on December 15

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on December 15, at which a wide range of issues were discussed - from upcoming international events to plans for modernizing the national economy. Particular attention was paid to the areas of healthcare, education, trade, industry and transport.

Announcements of upcoming events

On December 18, the delegation of Turkmenistan will take part in the Human Rights Dialogue “Turkmenistan European Union” in Brussels.

On December 19, the Turkmen delegation will take part in the 22nd meeting of the “Turkmenistan-EU” Joint Committee in Brussels.

On December 27, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan will host a Youth Forum and Exhibition. The events will sum up the successes achieved by Turkmen youth at international sports competitions, school and student Olympiads. The achievements of young people in the economic sphere will be considered.

On January 29-30, Turkmenistan will be represented at the Transport Investment Forum in Brussels.

During 2024, a number of international events will be organized in Turkmenistan on the occasion of the proclamation of the city of Anau as the cultural capital of the Turkic world.

Education

In 2024-2025, the Government of Turkmenistan will send Turkmen youth to study at universities in China and Hungary. Boys and Girls will be able to get education in the field of information technology, health, education, agriculture, engineering, technology, mathematics and natural sciences.

Healthcare

Turkmenistan received certificates from specialized UN structures for achievements in the field of healthcare. These include a UNDP Certificate for efforts to accelerate progress towards universal health coverage, as well as corresponding Certificates from the WHO Supranational Reference Laboratory (Gauting, Germany).

The presentation of certificates will be held within the framework of the upcoming Youth Forum in Ashgabat.

Trade

In connection with the approaching New Year, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed the heads of the relevant structures to ensure an abundance of various food products at affordable prices on domestic shelves.

Exhibition activities

The Turkmen Government is preparing proposals for organizing exhibitions, fairs, conferences and festivals planned by the country’s ministries and departments for 2024. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed to widely advertise products produced in the country through these events and organize them in accordance with modern requirements.

Transport

The Agency of Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan purchased hundreds of small and medium-capacity Toyota passenger buses to improve passenger transportation services on urban, suburban and intercity bus routes.

Fuel and Energy Complex

The Government of Turkmenistan is working to improve the Rules for the supply and consumption of natural gas, as well as modernize the regulatory framework of the fuel and energy sector.

Finance

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Hojamyrat Geldimyradov to continue work on modernizing the national banking card system and introducing modern types of payment cards.

Industry

The regulatory framework governing the export of products from the construction and industrial complex of Turkmenistan is being improved.
