Round table on accession of Turkmenistan to the WTO was held in Ashgabat

A further plan of action on the process of the country's accession to the World Trade Organization was discussed in Turkmenistan, reports the UNDP press service.

The members of the Government Commission of Turkmenistan on the issues of accession to the WTO, and representatives of other ministries and departments of the country participated in the conference.

During the Round Table, Maxim Medvedkov, international expert, adviser to the World Trade Organization (WTO) Expertise Center of the Russian Federation, presented the draft Roadmap.

The document prescribes an action plan for preparing for Turkmenistan's accession to the WTO and bringing legislation in line with WTO requirements for 2022-2025.

The points of the draft Roadmap include a realistic plan for reforming the regulatory framework, and a sequence of measures to be taken based on an exhaustive list of recommendations.

Let us note that the event was organized within the framework of the UNDP project “Platform for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals”, supported by the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan.
